Who runs this site
Morse Code Translator (dotdashmorse.com) is run by Nuno Carriço, Portugal. Contact: contact@dotdashmorse.com.
What this site collects
Nothing that identifies you. There are no accounts and no forms that send anything to a server. The translator runs entirely in your browser: the text and Morse code you type, and the audio it plays, never leave your device. Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, described below.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
To tell people from automated traffic, Cloudflare's bot protection may run a small security check in your browser and set a strictly necessary cookie, __cf_bm, which expires after 30 minutes. It isn't used for advertising or tracking.
Fonts and files
Fonts, styles, scripts and images are served from this site itself. Each page also loads the Cloudflare Web Analytics script from static.cloudflareinsights.com, and the advertising described below loads Google's ad services.
Analytics
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and measure page performance. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across sites or build profiles, and doesn't store IP addresses for analytics. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Advertising
This site uses Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
- How Google uses this data: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
- To turn off personalised ads from Google: Google Ads Settings.
- To opt out of personalised ads from other ad vendors: www.aboutads.info.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you are asked for your consent before personalised ads or advertising cookies are used.
Legal basis and your rights
Under the GDPR, advertising cookies are used only with your consent. Hosting, security and visit counting rely on legitimate interest: keeping the site available, safe and working well.
You have the right to:
- access the personal data held about you;
- have it corrected (rectification);
- have it erased;
- restrict its processing;
- object to its processing;
- withdraw your consent at any time.
To use any of these rights, email contact@dotdashmorse.com. You can also complain to a supervisory authority. In Portugal that is the CNPD (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados, www.cnpd.pt).
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect their data.
